Launching April 2025. What is Your Housing Residents Group?
Your Housing Residents Group is a new resident led initiative, that is now diligently working towards establishing itself as an independent community interest company, with the aim of enhancing the living experience of those residents, tenants and leaseholders occupying property under the management of social landlord provider Your Housing Group Limited, which currently operates within the areas of Greater Manchester, Staffordshire, Lancashire, Merseyside, Yorkshire, Cheshire, Warrington, Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, and Staffordshire Moorlands.
While this initiative is only at an initial review stage, it is hoped that residents, tenants and leaseholders will eventually have access to valuable information, signposting, or available support, to help them navigate through any issue that may arise during their occupation or tenancy.
Objectives
The primary aim will be to foster a sense of community among residents, tenants and leaseholders, by facilitating open communication and collaboration.
By working together in hopefully a constructive way, residents, tenants and leaseholders can address common concerns and disputes more effectively.
This initiative will encourage residents, tenants and leaseholders to come together, share experiences, and collaborate on solutions that may improve their living conditions.
Benefits of participation
Being a part of Your Housing Residents Group shall hopefully offer several advantages. Not only will it aim to provide a platform for residents, tenants and leaseholders to raise issues openly, but it will hopefully also empower them with the knowledge and resources needed to advocate their rights. A further aim is to ensure that residents, tenants and leaseholders feel supported and heard.
Additionally, assistance may be available to residents, tenants or leaseholders in relation to any dispute or complaint they may have with their social landlord provider, or alternatively, in escalating any complaint to the Housing Ombudsman once the landlord’s own complaint process has been completed, but matters still remain unresolved. However, it should be noted that the Housing Ombudsman does not consider complaints that are or have already been subject to legal or court proceedings.
By hopefully uniting as a community, residents, tenants and leaseholders can influence their environment positively and work towards actionable changes that will also benefit everyone.
